SPM Hydraulic Power Units

Multi-actuator hydraulic power units for special-purpose machines and automation cells. One power unit drives every clamp, slide, ejector and index motion in the cycle — with manifold-based control and valve sequencing so each actuator fires in the right order, at the right pressure, on your PLC's command.

What it is

Power and control for the whole machine cycle

A special-purpose machine rarely needs just one hydraulic motion. A typical cell might clamp a part, advance a slide, drill or press, then eject — several actuators, each with its own force, speed and timing. An SPM hydraulic power unit supplies all of them from a single reservoir and pump set, and coordinates them through a valve manifold rather than a rack of loose plumbing.

We build the unit around what your machine actually does. Pressure and flow are sized to the actuators and the cycle time; the pump and motor are chosen for the duty; and the manifold carries the directional, pressure and flow-control valves that sequence the motions. Solenoid valves are wired for PLC control, so your automation commands each step and pressure or limit feedback confirms it before the next begins. The result is a compact, leak-checked power unit that behaves as one integrated part of the cell.

Because every SPM is different, nothing here is a fixed catalogue item — the build is defined by your actuator schedule, cycle diagram and electrical interface, then confirmed by a Suyog engineer before quoting.

Options & what we engineer

Every element of an SPM power unit is chosen for the cell it serves:

  • Multi-station manifold — directional, pressure and flow-control valves grouped on one leak-checked block
  • Valve sequencing — motions ordered and interlocked so each step completes before the next
  • PLC-ready control — solenoid valves and signals wired for your automation, with pressure/limit feedback
  • Proportional control — where a motion needs variable speed or force during the cycle
  • Independent pressures — separate reduced-pressure circuits for clamping vs. working motions
  • Accumulator circuits — for holding clamp force or supplying peak flow on fast motions
  • Pump & motor — gear, vane or piston pump; motor power, voltage and starting method to duty
  • Tank & instrumentation — reservoir volume, level and temperature switches, pressure gauges
  • Filtration — suction, pressure and return-line filtration to a target cleanliness
  • Cooling — air or water oil-cooling where the cycle's heat load requires it
  • Machine interface — port sizes, connections and mounting matched to the cell
  • Space envelope — footprint and height fitted to available floor or machine-side space

In-house testing

Sequencing and function verified before dispatch

No SPM power unit leaves our factory untested. Each applicable unit is run on our own bench up to 650 bar / 200 LPM — pressure, flow, valve sequencing and functional operation are checked, and a pre-dispatch test certificate is issued.

Warranty & documentation. Every SPM hydraulic power unit is supplied with a standard manufacturer's warranty against manufacturing defects — terms confirmed in writing at order. A detailed technical datasheet, hydraulic circuit diagram and test certificate for your specific build are available on request once the configuration is fixed.

Questions

Frequently asked

How many actuators can one SPM power unit drive?

A single power unit can drive several actuators — clamps, slides, ejectors and index drives — from one reservoir and pump set. The number of stations depends on the cycle: simultaneous motions need enough flow to feed them together, while sequenced motions can share flow. We map every actuator and its cycle timing before fixing the pump, motor and manifold.

Can you sequence the actuators and interlock with our PLC?

Yes. Sequencing is handled on a manifold using directional, pressure and flow-control valves, with solenoid valves wired for PLC control. We provide the circuit and interface so your PLC commands each motion, and pressure or limit signals confirm each step before the next begins.

Do you build the unit around our machine cycle?

Yes. An SPM power unit is engineered to the machine, not picked from a shelf. We size pressure and flow to the actuators and cycle time, choose the pump and motor for the duty, and lay out the manifold, tank and controls to fit the cell and its electrical interface.

Is the unit tested before dispatch?

Yes. Every applicable unit is run on our in-house bench up to 650 bar and 200 LPM, with pressure, flow, valve sequencing and functional operation verified, and it ships with a pre-dispatch test certificate.
